Delete your account
Last updated: 18 August 2026
You can delete your Playeng account yourself, at any time, from either the app or the website. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Delete it yourself (fastest)
- Sign in to Playeng, in the app or at playeng.app.
- Open Settings, then scroll to Account.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm with your password and type DELETE to confirm. This step exists so an account cannot be destroyed by someone borrowing an unlocked phone.
Your account is removed immediately and you are signed out on every device.
What gets deleted
- Your account: name, email address, phone number, password and profile picture.
- Your voice recordings, and the transcripts and pronunciation assessments made from them.
- Your written answers, essays and AI tutor conversations.
- Your test sessions, scores, band history and progress.
- Your study plan, goals, streaks, saved words, bookmarks and mistake lists.
- Your leaderboard entries — your name stops appearing on any leaderboard.
What may remain, and why
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you (for example, total number of tests taken across the platform).
- Records we are legally required to keep, such as basic transaction records for a paid plan, kept only for as long as the law requires.
- Ordinary system backups, which roll over on their normal schedule.
- Crash and error reports, which do not contain your personal information.
If you cannot sign in
Email hello@playeng.app from the email address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We verify the request comes from the account owner and complete it within 30 days.
A note about paid plans
Deleting your account ends any active plan and forfeits remaining credits — they are not refunded and cannot be restored afterwards. If you only want to stop using Playeng for a while, you can simply sign out and come back later instead.
